The Brit Awards unveil the trophies for 2021 with a twist

As reported by Sky News, the 2021 Brits have revealed what recipients will receive on the night of the awards, with an encouragement to spread kindness.

Winners can expect not one but two figurines for their efforts, with the intent for the second statue to be given to someone by the artist in order to share the love. The designers of the trophies (Es Devlin and Yinka Ilori) say the inspiration for this year came from the acts of kindness seen around the world due to the global Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns.

Due to take place on May 11th, the ceremony will be the ‘first major indoor and in-person live music event in more than a year’  with an audience of 4,000 people who will not be required to wear masks or social distance. Instead, attendees will only need a negative test in line with the government’s live events pilot scheme. This will be an exciting night in music and in culture as we move forward to lesser restrictions in everyday life.
